All eyes were in Issa Rae last night at the CFDA Fashion Awards 2018 held at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City. Rae — the award show’s first-ever black female host — walked the red carpet at the Brooklyn Museum in a bright blue, one-shoulder Pyer Moss jumpsuit, adorned with over 180,000  Swarovski crystals. The Haitian-American designer, known for his activism and commitment to highlighting race relations in the United States of America finished the ensemble with a belt inscribed with the message “Every N***a Is a Star”. The phrase itself  referenced a 1973 track by Jamaican singer-songwriter Boris Gardiner, which was also sampled by Kendrick Lamar’s “Wesley’s Theory” on his 2015 album “To Pimp a Butterfly.”
