With the explosion of creativity happening presently in Trinidad at Tobago, CONNECTIONS will bring together these elements of creativity. CONNECTIONS, a monthly creative event hosted by AKIMBO, will hold its inaugural event on Saturday, April 14th, 2018, from 10am – 6pm, at 27 Prince Street in Arima.
CONNECTIONS will provide the opportunity for the nation’s talented fashion designers, artists, filmmakers, photographers and artisans, to showcase their work to the community and by extension the mass public. It will bring together professionals, opinion-leaders, trendsetters and the community in a way that they are able to network, express their ideas, culture and values.
CONNECTIONS inaugural event will feature Coffee Painting demonstration and exhibition by artist and story collector, Neala Luna, whose paintings are created with actual coffee; fashion designs by THE CLOTH, which has come to represent a unique, dynamic and always original Caribbean aesthetic; contemporary menswear fashion label William McIntosh, debuting fashion items from their 2018 collection; and videographer and photographer, Jimmel Daniel, will exhibit “the real Trinidad in its very gritty Caribbean reality”. It will also include performances by local artist, live DJ and delectable local treats and refreshments.
The event is open to the public.
